Highway 36 church of Christ
Who are we? Our family is a collection of residents of Abilene, Clyde, Eula, Potosi, Dudley, Lawn and Tuscola who love to worship God, sing and enjoy family fellowship together. We have Bible classes for all ages every Lord’s Day (Sunday); worship assemblies every Sunday morning and evening; a Ladies’ Bible class on Monday mornings during the school year; a mid-week devotional service and Bible classes for all ages on Wednesday evenings. Our youth participate in Leadership Training for Christ activities, summer Bible camps (Cisco, White River, Central Texas), youth retreats and service projects. We conduct an annual Family Vacation Bible School in the early summer with Bible classes for all ages; a Bus ministry; Heart-to-Heart/House-to-House bi-monthly newsletter to 1,000 homes in the area.
We want to encourage every member of the Highway 36 congregation to become involved in the work of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you are not active in one or more of the Highway 36 church ministry efforts, please consider Jesus’ parable of the talents, found in Matthew 25:14-30. Every Christian has abilities and skills that will edify the whole body, and we ask that you exercise them. We are God’s co-workers (II Corinthians 6:1), so let us all be diligent in these matters. Contact any elder or deacon to ask how to become involved in the work to be done.
If you are seeking a congregation of the Lord’s body in which to grow through worship to God and study of His Word, we invite you to consider ‘casting your lot’ with us. Contact any elder to make your needs known.
If you are unsure of your salvation, we encourage you to contact any of our elders or ministers, and we will gladly study the Bible with you to reach a confident state of assurance. Our goal is heaven, and our desire is that this will be your goal also. We urge you to recognize Jesus as God’s only Son and realize that he died so that every human might be saved. Turn your back on the sins in your life, and make Jesus the Lord and Master of your life. Clothe yourself with Him through baptism for the forgiveness of your sins, and live a faithful life of humble obedience to God until you die. Let us know how we might be of service to you.
